Unaware of the Vast Amounts of Vicodin He Was Taking
I wanted to let all of the staff know how much our family appreciates what was done for my son back in June of this year (2007). For a long time (about 10 years), my son was taking more than his fair share of vicodin. At first, the RX was for his migraine headaches, but it was just easier to start out taking the high powered vicodin than it was to try taking tylenol or advil to alleviate the pain. As you all probably know, the more you take the more you have to take for it to keep working as your body forms an immunity. I was unaware of the vast amounts of the drug he was taking until he came to me, crying – imagine that a 24 year old – but it happened. He said he was just going to end his life if I didn’t get him some help. Thank God for the internet and leading me to this site for Rapid Detox. Not only was it affordable, but I had spoken with someone that had it done out in California for 3 times the $$.
I had to listen to this young man beg for help, I was embarrassed at myself because I didn’t know he was taking so much medicine. Since completing the program, he entered the US Army as a Cavalry Scout, he broke his hip during basic training and wouldn’t take anything other than Advil to get through the pain. He said for the first time in 10 years he actually feels pain, and it feels good because now he knows he is alive if he is in pain. He leaves for Iraq at the beginning of the year to relieve a scout over there. I do have mixed emotions about it, as a mother I am forever grateful that he has his life back, but I do worry about him getting shot at – he says not to worry, he started attending both the Protestant and Catholic services during training, and he has received expert in marksmanship, grenade launching and rocket launching.
I am a registered nurse, and the fact that I ignored my son’s troubles is deeply disturbing to me. I am thankful that my son had the courage to admit his addiction and ask for help. I am so grateful to every staff member that we dealt with, from the office staff and our caregiver, each of you deserve a star in your crown for the saving of this young man’s life. Keep us in your prayers as you are daily in mine, I always thank God that you were there in my time of need. Thank you so much. If anyone wants to contact me for a testimonial over the phone or by e-mail, please feel free to give them my contact information.
Love you all,
