6 Year Morphine Habit

My name is Steve and I am an addict of the worse kind. I went cold turkey from a 6 year morphine habit and it took 6 months of my life to begin to feel normal. From illegal to legal I jumped back into the fire by trusting a methadone clinic to help me with my problems. That was the biggest mistake I had ever made. They had me at 160 milligrams and I was more depressed than ever and on top of that, now a slave to this stinking methadone clinic. I tried weaning myself off as well as cold-turkey. That was when I realized I had bitten off more than I could chew. I was not going to beat this on my own.

I got on the Internet to learn all I could about detoxifying from this terrible drug. It was there I stumbled onto the Rapid Detox Center in Michigan. I was told that while under general anesthesia I would experience all of the painful withdrawals in a thirty minute time period. I spoke with others who had been thru the program and heard their testimonials. It was then that I realized that I, too, must take the step if I was ever to be free of my opiate dependence.

We drove there on the 10th of October and did the procedure on the 11th. The New-Life I’d been Given

It started with a call to Jeannie, desperate for my life.
Hooked on frikin methadone, ignoring my dear wife!
Completely irresponsible and hopelessly addicted!
I had to somehow decimate the sickness I’d inflicted.

I tried to taper off but I was rapidly defeated.
It seemed for me, sobriety would never be completed.
It had complete control of me. It caused me so much pain.
This clinic had it’s teeth in me, much like a ball and chain.

Desperate for answers I searched the Internet.
I found this Rapid Detox that could be my only bet.
And so I drove to Michigan with my best friend and wife.
In one short small procedure I had gotten back my life.

It’s only been 5 days now and I’m feeling like brand new.
